New Members
If you are a new member, or someone thinking of joining us, SSRC is a friendly club offering squash and squash 57 for players of all abilities and backgrounds. As a club, we try to be as inclusive and encouraging as possible so that everyone can enjoy playing.
If you're new to the game and trying to figure out ways in which you can get involved, have a look at this England Squash page which gives lots of information about playing.
Ways to play at Stillington
We have a few ways in which we support new members to start playing squash or squash57.
Personal recommendations
To help new members settle in, we will first of all send you a welcome email message so that you feel part of our club. In this, we make some suggestions about existing members you can contact to arrange a game. You'll receive a few names and contact details of friendly members who are willing to play new starters, so that you can follow up in your own time to arrange a game.
Mini-leagues
Once you feel confident enough, we encourage you to join our regular mini-leagues. These are a great opportunity for you to meet other members and develop your game. We offer singles, doubles and squash57 leagues.
Coaching
Led by our two club coaches, our regular coaching night is a Wednesday. For newbies and developing players, we suggest you come along to our 19:00-20:00 slot where you can meet other players of a similar standard. For team-standard players, you are invited to come along to our 20:00-21:00 session which is more advanced.
Club events
Throughout the year, we try to offer a variety of club events for members of all standards and backgrounds. These are popular events and much enjoyed by our member-base. We'll often visit our club sponsor, The White Bear, after events to enjoy a drink, some food and great company.
If you've read enough and want to join us, head on over to our membership page to choose the right membership option for you.
